Saxony Pile rugs: Carpets of this type are made of high quality material and are generally costly. Average height of its heated twisted piles is less than one inch to give them a stand up appearance. Carpets with longer pile make your home more elegant but you will have to frequently shift your furniture on it to keep them fluffy and fresh looking. Vacuum cleaning is the best cleaning method for this type of carpets but you should avoid using beater bar vacuum as it can harm the height of longer piles. You should avoid deep cleaning to this type of carpets as it can also damage its piles.
Velvet or plush carpets: The piles of this type of carpets are made of slightly twisted synthetic fibers to give it a softer feel but they are less durable than Saxony pile rugs. Though your stains can be easily covered by its multi colored fiber but still they have to be cleaned for their long life. They can be vacuumed easily without damaging its looks and softness. If you want to clean them through steam cleaner then you will have to be careful about its temperature settings. High temperature of steam cleaner can damage it piles and softness.
Berber carpets: Uncut loops are used to make Berber carpets which are considered to be most durable carpets due its low lying pile lops which can restrain even heavy traffic on it. It is mainly used in the areas where foot traffic is excessive as it is not stained with footprints. The dirt sits on the top surface of these carpets due to their tightly woven twisted loops. You should vacuum clean it daily to avoid the insertion of dust and dirt into its piles. Beater bar vacuuming or shampoo cleaning should be avoided as they can damage its fiber and difficult to dry. Dry shampooing can be another option for cleaning this type of carpets.
Cut and Loop carpets: The piles of this type of carpets include long cut as well as uncut twisted and loped yarns which give them a distinctive look with its patterned designs. These carpets are normally used in high foot traffic areas as they hid the footprints effectively. While cleaning these carpets daily vacuuming is recommended instead of beater bar vacuuming to keep it free from dirt and dust. Though they can be steam cleaned but need extra time to dry completely.
